It's fairly easy to tune out the talking. Actually, it's nice that he's not the one filling the void of silence with chatter. It typically gets him smacked upside the head and he's grateful for a change in the routine. He's got his sword with him as always and he does hope that strength in numbers holds out.

He truly doubts Katniss will be about to save him this time. And, of course, there's nothing he wants more than a single tooth from that gleaming white mouth. He'll do just about anything for it -- even listen to this inane babbling.
